the mountain is out
it’s a comfortable morning here on long island. i woke up with a sugar hangover from overindulging in my favorite candy (a bag of peach rings) from my local 7-11 but plenty of water and a splash of coffee seem to be doing the trick; that and my spa music being accompanied by a lavender candle i have burning next to my vitamin d lamp on my writing desk. phoenix is laying next to me as im packing my bags to abscond from new york, and i wanted to share some updates with you before i go.
back in december, i shared i completed the manuscript for my second book, laying mySHIP bare. i let it cool off and took it to the caribbean at the top of the year to get it ready for print and wound up having to undertake a couple major rewrites since, but i am happy to report i am in the final stages of editing it before we can transition it into the next step (which is why the book has a bit of a lag.) below is the unofficial cover.

after the exhilarating experience i had when undertow released, i needed to take time to regather my energy (and am still recollecting mySELF) … i haven’t done a book event in months and it will be some time before i am back on the road again. as an artist i understand i have to keep my cup filled before i pour out again and with that in mind, i am runnin’ away for a writing retreat where i can have a slowed pace of life, in a different environment to focus in deep measures. every book i’ve written to date has started and ended while on a retreat. undertow found its first words in australia and ended in a hotel room in atlantic city, nj that snaked thru to st. croix. laying mySHIP bare started in las vegas and ended in the dominican republic. and now, my third book will begin in the pacific northwest; for now, it’ll be publicly known as NH3.
so when’s lmsb releasing, you might be asking. i gotchu. i am actively in the book proposal and query process securing representation. i learned in my publishing experience with undertow, and after much prayer, traditional publishing is the plan for lmsb (which is very hard, takes a lot of patience and brings me into a deeper level of trust in God’s master plan). when i can publicly share updates with this, i promise you’ll be the first to know.
but for now, i am breaking away to begin writing the third installment of the six book undertow series. i’ll unplug some from socials over the new few weeks which is why i wanted to leave you with this. more updates to come soon and in case you missed it, here's a preview excerpt from lmsb.
